A few days after a unique encounter with bassist Fanny Lasfargues, Chicago musician Damon Locks is back, this time solo, to open the closing night of the 40th edition of Météo Festival ! Damon Locks is a Chicago-based visual artist, educator, singer/musician and DJ. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He has recently lent his talents as an artist and/or teacher to organizations such as Prisons and Neighborhood Arts Project, Art Reach, the Center for Urban Pedagogy, and UIC. Voices, places, stories and human exchanges help connect his work to the experiences of others, making it stronger. With a printmaker’s aesthetic, he calls on the medium that best suits the situation, be it silkscreen/relief/digital print, photography, ink, pencil, voice, drum machine, sampler or turntable. Whatever the medium, the aim is to reach out and connect.
