Ben Lamar Gay : cornet, électroniques, voix, percussions
Born in 1978 in the heart of Chicago’s South Side, member of the AACM (Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians), cornetist Ben Lamar Gay has been creating an imaginary soundtrack on the edge of post-rock and avant-jazz for over twenty years. On vocals, keyboards, and flutes, he tells sound stories that embrace samba, free music, folk, blues, hip-hop, and electro, and invests wastelands, neighborhoods, and contemporary art museums for off-limits and improvised adventures. For all these reasons and many more, we really wanted to offer him a solo performance in the resonant acoustics and the summer humidity of the Bains Municipaux de Mulhouse. He was free to propose an ephemeral and necessarily a little bit lunar soundtrack.
